Ketamine, the drug known as special K, has long been a favorite on the club scene. Originally developed as a battlefield anesthetic during the Vietnam War it found greater use as a veterinary tranquilizer the 1980s. In the 1990s however, it become a popular club drug. When snorted it causes euphoria, disassociation, and in large doses hallucination. Users also report feeling more social and open.

Several recent studies, however, suggest the drug can also combat depression. Unlike other anti-depressants that take weeks to work a dose of ketamine reverses depression in hours and for weeks after the high has faded. This has led several pharmaceutical companies to try to develop a drug that has ketamine’s depression fighting ability without the high.

Ketamine isn’t the only club drug getting medical attention. Mdma (ecstasy) is being used to combat PTSD and autism. LSD and psychedelic mushrooms are also being tested to combat depression and PTSD with positive results. Doctors claim these drugs are not dangerous when administered under the supervision of a doctor.

Ketamine has come under even more legal scrutiny recently because a legal analog of the drug methoxetamine, which has even more powerful effects is being sold online legally. The drug is technically unscheduled though state lawmakers are moving fast to change that. Look for advice online about enrolling in doctor supervised trails for ketamine and depression.

Summer’s on its way. You had just had yourself a real kicker Memorial Day weekend with friends and family. You got out some ribs, some burgers, lots of barbeque sauce and a cold one. And then another cold one. And a third one. You topped that off with a few more ribs, some chips, and a double-patty burger with mayonnaise and ketchup.

By this point you realize you may have overdone it. The next few days you may be feeling sluggish and full. That’s just not good for your body. Take this opportunity to detox.

Detox cleansing involves removing toxins from your body by eating and drinking natural substances that specifically target your liver, lymph, and kidneys. Key foods that target these vital organs include whey proteins, eggs, almonds, coconuts, beans, brown rice, and fruits such as blueberries.

Start your day with a fruit smoothie and a quick healthy snack of almonds. Keep lunch light. A salad, perhaps? For dinner aim for proteins and veggies. After your body adjusts to its new diet, you’ll feel loads better. If you’re losing motivation because of the lack of palatable flavors use music to rejuvenate your frayed mental state. After all, Dr. Dre knows best when it comes to Detox.

This is just the tip of the ice berg, because drinking this wonder of nature will also help address respiratory problems since it will help circulate the needed oxygen to our blood cells and prevent them from clumping with another, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack. Some people choose to drink pomegranate juice since it can also prevent, or even slow down Alzheimer’s disease. Knowing this, maybe we better switch to drinking pomegranate juice instead of iced tea or orange juice, what do you think?

However, doctors would even agree that sunblock alone cannot protect us from the harmful rays of the sun. Yes, while we bask in the sun enjoying the feel of the summer waves, we are unwittingly exposing ourselves to greater and more serious health problems such as skin cancer. To avoid this ugly situation, it is suggested that application of sun block lotion be done 15-30 minutes before going out to the sun and re-applying the same 15-30 minutes after the initial application. Also, it is deemed advisable to re-apply sun block lotion if the person has profused sweating or had just taken a dip in the water. But then, when we get lost in the fun and excitement, would we even remember reapplying it?

It has been proven that eating peppers could help deal with those nasty colds and sinuses, and even decrease the number of headaches which one may be having. It has proven to be a good depository of Vitamin C, though it is not often advertised as such, and helps ease blood circulation. In fact, this vegetable can help out those people who love to smoke a lot since ingesting this food helps circulate the blood very much. Who would have thought that this little red thing would be able to contribute a lot to a person’s well-being? Now while adults may have grown accustomed to these peppers, the next difficult thing would be how to make our kids eat it because most of them do not eat this stuff. Nevertheless, mom and dads would agree that eating these peppers, while admittedly hot and even cause a tingling sensation, can still prove to be one of the very few vegetables which can give the total health package.

So what can you do about it?

People get sick because the immune system of their bodies have weakened. Having the flu is no laughing matter, and the best way to deal with it is to take a rest at your home, lie down, and drink plenty of liquids to go along with the medications prescribed by your doctor. Sometimes, to hasten the recovery period, antibiotics are given to deal with the virus. So when you have the flu, you can do three things, you can either immediately accord direct treatment to the flu or to the accompanying symptoms, or you can just take the necessary precautions to protect yourself against the flu virus. The choice is yours.

There is no hard and fast rule on what triggers a migraine attack since the person suffering from it is the only one who knows how it came about. A migraine trigger for one does not necessarily mean that it is also a migraine trigger for the other. An example would be a cup of coffee may trigger a migraine for some people while others take coffee to relieve themselves from a migraine attack. As you can see, there are no exact causes of migraine triggers as each is personal. One thing is certain though, some people see an aura and know for one that they will be having a migraine attack shortly. So the best way is to assess yourself so you could know what triggers your migraine attack. It is essentially a trial and error method, and thereafter applying the process of elimination. Only you can name those triggers, and not anyone else, not even your doctor.

Calcium and phosphate are two components needed to develop healthy bones. As we age, our bones become brittle because these two minerals are reabsorbed into our bodies, thus denying our bones of their sustenance. Since our bones do not receive the much-needed minerals to stay strong, it grows weak and later develops into a major bone problem.

The osteoporosis problem is brought about in the drop of estrogen level for women or testosterone drop in men. It is prevalent in people aged over 50. Though there are no known symptoms in its early stages, people who suddenly feel tenderness in their bones, back and neck pains or stooped posture are likely candidates for osteoporosis. The best way to determine if we are suffering from it is to undergo a bone mineral density testing or even a spine CT scan, in rare cases.
