Ketamine, the drug known as special K, has long been a favorite on the club scene. Originally developed as a battlefield anesthetic during the Vietnam War it found greater use as a veterinary tranquilizer the 1980s. In the 1990s however, it become a popular club drug. When snorted it causes euphoria, disassociation, and in large doses hallucination. Users also report feeling more social and open.

Several recent studies, however, suggest the drug can also combat depression. Unlike other anti-depressants that take weeks to work a dose of ketamine reverses depression in hours and for weeks after the high has faded. This has led several pharmaceutical companies to try to develop a drug that has ketamine’s depression fighting ability without the high.

Ketamine isn’t the only club drug getting medical attention. Mdma (ecstasy) is being used to combat PTSD and autism. LSD and psychedelic mushrooms are also being tested to combat depression and PTSD with positive results. Doctors claim these drugs are not dangerous when administered under the supervision of a doctor.

Ketamine has come under even more legal scrutiny recently because a legal analog of the drug methoxetamine, which has even more powerful effects is being sold online legally. The drug is technically unscheduled though state lawmakers are moving fast to change that. Look for advice online about enrolling in doctor supervised trails for ketamine and depression.

One of the few unfortunates of this move, however, is that we are now in a building with an elevator.

The elevator itself isn’t a big deal (though the speed in which it operates leaves a bit to be desired). The issue is the series of societies rejects who always seem to be standing at the entrance in the lobby when I’m trying to get off… and who blatantly refuse to observe the unwritten rule of “Let Everyone Off, Then Everyone Get On.”

Like the undertow of a Tropical Storm’d beach, I’m consistently pulled back into the tube by a wave of overweight self-absorbed punks with no social skills whatsoever, fighting my way off the elevator like Justin Tuck chasing down a quarterback. It’s infuriating. It’s frustrating. And most importantly, its socially unacceptable. Seriously, in North Korea they use to execute people for this kind of thing… or at least they will, when they finally invent a working elevator.

If you’re waiting to get on an elevator, stand to the side. Wait for everyone to get off, then get in the shaft. If you’re SO concerned the lift is gonna jump away without you, feel free to stick your arm out like a safety patrol. But don’t prevent the exiters from doing the only thing they want to do… EXIT.

I only take the elevator down when I’m going to lunch or I’m heading home for the day. The idea of someone getting in my way during either of those excursions is the kind of thing that creates a brain aneurysm. Next person to get in my way should expect the full Terry Tate treatment. You’ve been warned.

Calcium and phosphate are two components needed to develop healthy bones. As we age, our bones become brittle because these two minerals are reabsorbed into our bodies, thus denying our bones of their sustenance. Since our bones do not receive the much-needed minerals to stay strong, it grows weak and later develops into a major bone problem.

The osteoporosis problem is brought about in the drop of estrogen level for women or testosterone drop in men. It is prevalent in people aged over 50. Though there are no known symptoms in its early stages, people who suddenly feel tenderness in their bones, back and neck pains or stooped posture are likely candidates for osteoporosis. The best way to determine if we are suffering from it is to undergo a bone mineral density testing or even a spine CT scan, in rare cases.

This helps you a lot in cutting the cost on medicines. By things I mean health fruits and vegetables, avoiding junk food and taking just homemade food in limited amounts and insurance.

The above mentioned this are the best way to reduce the cost of medicines especially insurance. See by taking healthy limited homemade diet you can easily put a control on intake of bad and junk thing which effects your health the most. It is the best to take small servings of fruits and vegetables to keep yourself healthy and fight off the disease.

Insurance is good because it helps in cutting the cost of medicines. All you need to do is just contact an insurance company and start your medical insurance.

This is a therapy that is practiced by swishing and swirling of about 10ml of cold pressed Sesame seed oil in the mouth for about 20 minutes till the oil turns into a white watery liquid that has lost all its viscosity.

This results in cleaner teeth free of all the germs hidden between the teeth. This practice has been re-popularized in modern times by Dr Karach of Ukraine who had declared in a medical conference that he had practiced oilpulling and saw relief from some of the un-curable diseases on him. Oil pulling is gaining popularity in India as there is a company that sells Sesame oil suitable for Oil Pulling in sachets with just the quantity required. Numerous websites, blogs on the benefits of oil pulling and also to evoke discussion on the same. I have personally practiced oil pulling and find that my teeth actually get whiter and my gums get fresher. People claim that oil pulling has cured them of diseases such as Asthma, etc.

John Markoff of the New York Times, wrote a really great article in November of ’08 profiling Microsoft’s study of Cyberchondria. Cyberchondria is a term that was coined around 2000 that refers to the jumping to conclusions of one’s health conditions after reading health info on the web. If you’ve ever know someone who had a headache, looked it up on WebMD and then promptly determined they had a brain tumor, you’ve met a Cyberchondriac.

Microsoft ended up taking on a study that to survey popular health related web searches on popular search engines. The goal of the the study was to use the results to help shape the features of Microsoft’s search service, so it could be thought of as more of an adviser than a blind information retrieval tool.

From the article:

“They found that Web searches for things like headache and chest pain were just as likely or more likely to lead people to pages describing serious conditions as benign ones, even though the serious illnesses are much more rare.

For example, there were just as many results that linked headaches with brain tumors as with caffeine withdrawal, although the chance of having a brain tumor is infinitesimally small.

The researchers said they had not intended their work to send the message that people should ignore symptoms. But their examination of search records indicated that researching particular symptoms often led quickly to anxiousness.

They found that roughly 2 percent of all Web queries were health-related, and about 250,000 users, or about a quarter of the sample, engaged in a least one medical search during the study.

About a third of the subjects “escalated” their follow-up searches to explore serious illnesses, the researchers said.”

Pretty interesting stuff!
